Turkish Actresses Plastic Surgery: Procedures, Risks and Recovery

Turkish actresses plastic surgery is one of the most searched beauty topics in the Middle East and beyond, ever since Turkish dramas such as Magnificent Century, Forbidden Love (Aşk-ı Memnu) and Love Is in the Air (Sen Çal Kapımı) became global hits. This guide is not a gossip list. For each star we explain the medical procedure linked to her: what it does, how long it lasts, its risks and its recovery time, and we separate clearly what the star said herself from what newspapers published as claims.

We chose the most famous and most searched Turkish actresses, including those Sayidaty magazine lists among the most beautiful Turkish actresses, plus singers who have spoken publicly about their procedures. We write about them with admiration and respect: the aim is to give you the medical facts before you think about copying your favourite stars look (Source: Sayidaty).

Which Cosmetic Procedures Are Most Linked to Turkish Drama Stars?

Non-surgical injectables lead. Worldwide in 2024, botulinum toxin and then hyaluronic acid filler were the top non-surgical procedures, while eyelid surgery was the most common cosmetic operation, followed by liposuction, breast augmentation and rhinoplasty, out of about 17.4 million surgical and 20.5 million non-surgical procedures (Source: ISAPS).

This pattern matches the global picture: temporary injectables are far more common than surgery, but surgery remains the option when a permanent change to the nose, breasts, eyelids or a sagging face is wanted (Source: ISAPS).

Meryem Uzerli and Dermal Fillers: How Long Do They Last and What Are the Risks?

Meryem Uzerli became famous across the Arab world as Hürrem Sultan in Magnificent Century, and one of her latest works is the 2024 series RU. In October 2019 she denied any cosmetic work on her face: "No, I have no aesthetic procedures. Everything is original." She blamed selfies and a wrong camera angle for differences in her photos, and said her visits to a Los Angeles cosmetic doctor were for friendship and skin creams (Source: Posta).

The same newspaper, Posta, also published claims that over 10 years she had filler injections in her lips, chin and cheeks, and reported her as saying that her face had had nothing but vitamin injections. What is on record is her denial; the filler numbers are a press claim she has not confirmed (Source: Posta).

Why does a face change over time? Uzerli said a face "settles" with age, and that is medically true: loss of volume in the cheeks and changes under the skin are signs of ageing. This is why the American Society of Plastic Surgeons describes fillers as a temporary treatment that restores volume and needs follow-up sessions to maintain the result (Source: ASPS).

How long do fillers last? Hyaluronic acid cheek filler usually lasts about a year, calcium hydroxylapatite about 15 months and poly-L-lactic acid two years or more. Common side effects are swelling, bruising, redness and lumps, which usually settle within a week or two, and hyaluronic acid filler can often be dissolved if you dislike the result (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

The most important risk is rare but serious: injecting filler into a blood vessel can cause tissue death, vision problems or stroke, and the FDA warns against buying fillers online and against injectable silicone (Source: FDA).

Hande Erçel and Facial Contouring: What Are Buccal Fat Removal and Jaw Filler?

Hande Erçel starred in Love Is in the Air (Sen Çal Kapımı) and Aşk Laftan Anlamaz, and her latest work includes the Netflix film Chasing the Wind and the Prime Video series Two Worlds, One Wish in 2025. In 2021 Arabi Post reported claims from a Turkish newspaper that she had lip filler, a brow lift, a cheek lift, jaw smoothing and chin contouring, while her fans said her features changed because she lost weight (Source: Arabi Post).

Erçel was bullied about the roundness of her face and won a lawsuit against a content creator who compared her face to a round Turkish bread. Arabi Post says she had facial contouring and followed a special diet, but quotes no statement from her about it (Source: Arabi Post).

When she was asked about cosmetic surgery in March 2025, she rejected the question as "silly", then said there are many things she would like to change but would not name them "so it does not become a headline". In other words, she neither confirmed nor denied any procedure (Source: Takvim).

What is "facial contouring" medically? One common method is buccal fat removal, a surgery that removes fat pads between the cheekbone and the jaw to reduce cheek fullness. Most patients return to normal activities within a few days to a week, healing takes about three weeks, and the final result shows after several months (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Its risks include infection, injury to facial nerves or salivary ducts, changes in sensation and asymmetry. Cleveland Clinic notes that people with a narrow face or older patients may not be good candidates, because buccal fat naturally decreases with age (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Jaw and chin definition with filler is temporary and carries the same filler warnings: never buy it online, and have it injected by a doctor who knows the anatomy and blood vessels of the face (Source: FDA).

Tuba Büyüküstün and Skin Ageing: How to Slow It Without Surgery

Tuba Büyüküstün is the star of Ihlamurlar Altında and Asi, and her recent work includes the 2024 series Yarın Yokmuş Gibi. We found no reliable report attributing any cosmetic procedure to her. On the YouTube show Yargısız she said compliments make her uncomfortable, that being called beautiful "always came from others", and that she uses cosmetics only to a minimal extent (Source: Jordan News).

Care that slows skin ageing does not need a clinic. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a broad-spectrum, SPF 30 or higher, water-resistant sunscreen every day on all skin not covered by clothing, stopping smoking because it greatly speeds up skin ageing, and avoiding repetitive facial expressions, since contracting the same muscles for many years can make lines permanent (Source: AAD).

Beren Saat and Under-Eye Bags: When Is Eyelid Surgery Done?

Beren Saat starred in Aşk-ı Memnu, Fatmagülün Suçu Ne? and Magnificent Century: Kösem, and in 2026 released her first music. When she appeared without make-up in the Netflix series The Gift (Atiye), Milliyet wrote in 2019 that she refused special lighting and effects that hide under-eye bags and lines, and that "she has no cosmetic work on her face", in the newspapers own words, not hers (Source: Milliyet).

Under-eye bags are a natural part of ageing, and their surgical treatment is eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), which removes excess skin or fat from the eyelids. It takes around 45 minutes to 2.5 hours, most people go home the same day, and most take about 2 weeks off work (Source: NHS).

Bruising and redness last several weeks, and suture strips are usually removed within about a week. Occasional risks include blurred or double vision and uneven eyes; rare risks include the lower eyelid turning outwards and bleeding behind the eye. Eyelid surgery was the worlds most common cosmetic operation in 2024 (Sources: NHS, ISAPS).

Fahriye Evcen and Rhinoplasty: How Long Is Recovery?

Fahriye Evcen starred in Yaprak Dökümü and Çalıkuşu, and her latest TV role was in Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu. Turkish press reports have discussed work on her nose, brows and cheeks; these are claims she has not confirmed (Source: Milliyet).

In June 2018, when claims were published that she had had a series of operations, she answered by posting a make-up-free photo, and her husband, actor Burak Özçivit, commented "Thats it!" in support (Source: Hürriyet).

Rhinoplasty is the facial operation most often linked to stars names. It is usually done under general anaesthetic and takes 1.5 to 3 hours; a splint stays on for about 7 days, patients may need up to 2 weeks off work, bruising and swelling ease within about 3 weeks, but some swelling can last up to 6 months (Source: NHS).

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons explains that swelling may come and go during the first year and that the final nose shape can take a full year to settle. Risks include breathing difficulty, a rare septal perforation, dissatisfaction with the shape and the possible need for revision surgery (Sources: ASPS, ASPS).

Demet Özdemir and Botox: How It Works and How Long It Lasts

Demet Özdemir is the star of Erkenci Kuş (Daydreamer) and, more recently, Eşref Rüya (2025–2026). Hürriyet quoted her as having said earlier: "There is neither Botox nor aesthetics on my face", then in October 2018 published unattributed claims that she had chin Botox; this is a claim she has not confirmed (Source: Hürriyet).

How does Botox work? It blocks nerve signals to the injected muscle so it cannot contract, which softens the line above it or slims the muscle over time. It usually starts to work on day 3 or 4, reaches its full effect in 10 to 14 days and lasts about 3 to 4 months, so it is usually repeated every 3 to 6 months (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Temporary side effects include drooping or weak muscles, bruising and headache, which is why the American Society of Plastic Surgeons advises not rubbing the area after injection so the product does not spread to nearby muscles. It is not advised in pregnancy, breastfeeding or neuromuscular disease (Sources: ASPS, Cleveland Clinic).

Serenay Sarıkaya and Breast Implant Exchange: When Do Implants Need Replacing?

Serenay Sarıkaya starred in Medcezir, Shahmaran and Aile, and was first runner-up at Miss Turkey 2010. In October 2020 NTV reported, citing Hürriyet, that she had an operation at a private hospital in which her silicone implants were exchanged and her breasts reduced; her agency confirmed it, saying she "had a small operation, stayed one night and left" (Source: NTV).

Why are implants exchanged? According to the FDA, breast implants are not lifetime devices: the longer they are in place, the more likely complications become, and removal or further operations may be needed. The main complications include capsular contracture (hardening around the implant) and rupture, which in silicone implants is often silent (Source: FDA).

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says implants are typically exchanged or removed about every 10 to 15 years, and that painful capsule hardening or silicone leakage are reasons for removal. MRI is the most effective way to detect silent rupture, ultrasound is an acceptable alternative for women without symptoms, and any persistent swelling or pain around an implant should be checked to rule out breast implant-associated lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) (Sources: ASPS, FDA).

Hazal Kaya and Porcelain Veneers: Why Can Replacing Them Hurt?

Hazal Kaya starred in Adını Feriha Koydum and Bizim Hikaye, played Nihal in Aşk-ı Memnu, and leads the Netflix series Midnight at the Pera Palace. In January 2026 she said she had her laminate veneers redone after the debate about her new smile, that the work was due to a genetic condition, and described the pain: "It hurt so much, I thought I was dying." She added that removing and redoing them was harder (Source: CNN Türk).

Why can a replacement be harder? Fitting porcelain veneers requires the dentist to remove some natural enamel, which does not grow back, so most veneers are permanent, except no-prep or minimal-prep types. Teeth may also become more sensitive to heat and cold (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Veneers usually last 10 to 15 years with proper care; they can come loose, and the tooth underneath can still decay, so brushing, flossing and regular dental visits remain essential. See veneers in Turkey cost (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Bergüzar Korel and Weight Loss: Gastric Sleeve or Weight-Loss Injections?

Bergüzar Korel is Şehrazat in Binbir Gece (One Thousand and One Nights), is married to actor Halit Ergenç, and recently starred in Annem Ankara. In July 2026 she answered talk about her weight loss: "I did not have my stomach removed. I joked about it, but it was a wrong joke." She denied weight-loss injections and said she lost only 7 kg when people claimed 20 (Source: CNN Türk).

What is the medical difference? In a gastric sleeve about 80% of the stomach is removed so it becomes much smaller and sleeve-shaped; the operation usually takes 1 to 3 hours. It is not a way to lose a few kilos: the NHS usually reserves weight loss surgery for a BMI of 40 or more, or 35 to 40 with a weight-related condition, with lower thresholds for some backgrounds, including Middle Eastern (Sources: NHS, NHS).

As for GLP-1 weight-loss injections (semaglutide and tirzepatide), the FDA warns about unapproved and compounded versions: they are not reviewed for safety and quality, dosing errors have led to hospital admissions, and counterfeit products are sold online (Source: FDA).

Hande Yener: Injectables and Breast Self-Checks

Hande Yener has been one of Turkeys best-known pop singers since the early 2000s. In December 2021 she said openly: "Small interventions were done on my face, preparing for the New Year", and spoke of plans to open her own clinic (Source: Milliyet).

"Small interventions" usually means Botox and fillers, the most common non-surgical procedures in the world. Their results are temporary: Botox lasts about 3 to 4 months and hyaluronic acid cheek filler about a year (Sources: ISAPS, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Clinic).

In July 2021 Yener revealed on Cumartesi Sürprizi that she had overcome breast cancer. She said she became suspicious "while checking myself" and went to hospital, that she recovered without chemotherapy, and urged every woman to check herself (Source: Sözcü).

Her message matches the WHO: the most common sign of breast cancer is a lump or thickening, often painless, and any abnormal lump should be seen by a doctor even if it does not hurt, although most lumps are not cancer. About 2.4 million women were diagnosed worldwide in 2024, and deaths fall when the disease is detected and treated early (Source: WHO).

Ebru Gündeş and the Partial Facelift: Recovery and When Results Show

Ebru Gündeş has been one of Turkeys leading singers since her first album in 1993 and was a judge on O Ses Türkiye (The Voice). In April 2026 she told a concert audience from the stage: "I had a half-face lift. How do I look, ten years younger?" (Source: Takvim).

A facelift lifts and tightens facial skin to reduce sagging around the jowls and neck. It takes 2 to 3 hours and most people stay one night in hospital. Full recovery takes about 2 to 4 weeks, bruising lasts at least 2 weeks, and the full result can take 6 to 9 months to appear (Source: NHS).

Risks include nerve injury, asymmetry, hair loss around the scars and thick scars, plus general surgical risks such as bleeding, clots and infection. In the UK a mini facelift costs a few thousand pounds and a full face and neck lift up to £10,000 (Source: NHS).

Demet Akalın and Liposuction: How Much Fat Can Be Removed Safely?

Singer Demet Akalın said in July 2024: "I had liposuction before the summer. My doctor removed six kilos of fat", adding that a cosmetic result is "luck" and depends on the skin (Source: Posta).

Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity and does not remove cellulite or stretch marks; it suits people who are not overweight and have firm, elastic skin. It takes 1 to 3 hours, a compression garment is worn constantly for several weeks, gentle exercise is usually possible after 3 to 4 weeks, and the result may not show until swelling settles, which can take up to 6 months (Source: NHS).

How much can be removed safely? The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says special considerations are needed when large amounts, usually more than five litres of fat, are removed. Risks include blood clots, heart and lung complications, fluid build-up, infection, uneven contours and damage to nerves or deeper organs (Source: ASPS).

Edited Photos and Body Dysmorphic Disorder: When Does Cosmetic Surgery Become Risky?

Edited photos and filters make comparison with stars unfair. Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental health condition in which a person spends a lot of time worrying about flaws in their appearance that others often do not notice; it improves with cognitive behavioural therapy and some medicines (Source: NHS).

A 2024 systematic review of 65 studies estimated its prevalence among cosmetic surgery patients at about 18.6% and recommended screening patients before surgery. A responsible surgeon therefore asks: why do you want this change now? If a stars photo is the only reason, talking to a mental health professional is part of good care (Source: Kaleeny & Janis, 2024).

In Turkey, the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery requires its members not to make misleading technological edits to images used to inform patients, and to measure success by patients trust rather than likes and followers (Source: TPRECD).

Cosmetic Surgery Tourism in Turkey: Safety Standards and Complication Insurance

Turkey is a leading medical-tourism destination: in the ISAPS 2024 survey, Türkiye was among the countries with the highest proportion of foreign patients, together with Tunisia, the UAE and Colombia. Turkish Ministry of Trade data show that about 1.5 million people came to Turkey for treatment in 2024, six times as many as in 2012 (Sources: ISAPS, Turkish Ministry of Trade data).

The sector is regulated: in April 2025 the Turkish Ministry of Health said the new health-tourism regulation requires facilities and intermediaries to hold accreditation and certification, makes complication insurance mandatory for surgical procedures performed in operating rooms, and links the validity of the health-tourism certificate to criteria such as patient satisfaction and complaints (Source: Turkish Ministry of Health statement).

The Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery also requires members to obtain verbal and written informed consent before any invasive procedure, to put patient safety first and to work within their training and specialty (Source: TPRECD).

How Much Do These Procedures Cost in Turkey vs the US?

Costs vary by country and procedure. The table compares US averages from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, which cover the surgeons fee only, without anaesthesia or operating room costs, with prices for procedures in Turkey through International Clinics (Sources: ASPS, ASPS, ASPS, ASPS, ASPS).

Before Copying a Star Look: Safety Questions to Ask Before Surgery

Start by checking the surgeon: training, qualifications and how many similar procedures they have done. Ask for before-and-after photos of their own patients, book at least two consultations with a cooling-off period, and never pay for a hospital you have not seen or a surgeon you have not met (Source: NHS).

If you travel to Turkey, wait 7 to 10 days before flying after facial procedures and 5 to 7 days after breast surgery or liposuction, because flying after major surgery raises the risk of blood clots; do not plan a holiday straight after surgery, and ask in advance about follow-up if complications arise (Source: NHS).
