Arab Celebrities Cosmetic Surgery: Procedures, Risks & Recovery

Arab actresses plastic surgery is one of the most searched beauty topics in the Arab world: who changed her nose, who relies on fillers and Botox, and who says her beauty is natural? In this guide we gathered what the stars themselves said in interviews and TV shows reported by reputable outlets, separated fact from rumour, and explained each procedure medically: what it does, how long it lasts, its risks and its recovery.

We write about these women with admiration and respect. They shaped decades of Arab music and drama, and their choices are their own. Our aim is not to judge anyone but to give you the medical facts before you think about copying a favourite stars look. Every statement about a star is cited at the end of its paragraph.

Arab Actresses Plastic Surgery: Nose, Lips, Fillers and Botox at a Glance

No official list counts any stars procedures, but Nancy Ajram, Assala and Nabila Ebeid are among the most open about theirs. When a rumour claimed Nancy had 18 operations, the Egyptian site Masrawy called the number exaggerated (Source: Masrawy).

The table below sums up what each star has confirmed herself, as reported in the press, and what remains rumour. Details and sources for each star follow in her own section.

Worldwide, Botox leads non-surgical procedures with about 7.8 million treatments in 2024, followed by hyaluronic acid fillers at about 6.3 million, while rhinoplasty accounted for about 1 million operations. No wonder these three keep appearing in the stars stories (Source: ISAPS).

Haifa Wehbe and Plastic Surgery: Can Photos Reveal It? How Doctors Assess a Face

Haifa Wehbe has never confirmed any plastic surgery in a reliable statement. Claims about her nose, lips, cheeks and brows have appeared in the press only as things «said to» have happened, without confirmation from her (Source: El Watan News).

She has faced repeated waves of bullying about her looks. After her Riyadh Season concert in 2022 she answered by phone on the Egyptian show «Cairo Today» that critics «want to prove Im disfigured», and said she is happy with her appearance and her dark skin (Source: Masrawy).

In September and October 2026, commenters again linked photos attributed to her to cosmetic surgery. She replied that the photos had been edited with image software, called it a «silly campaign», and joked that next time they should remove the beauty but keep the eyebrow thick (Sources: Okaz, Emarat Al Youm).

Medically, nobody can tell from photos alone that a person has had surgery: lighting, makeup, lens angle and editing apps all change how a face looks. A real assessment of the nose or face is done in person by a surgeon, who examines the bridge, tip, nostrils and their balance with the rest of the face (Source: ASPS).

Nancy Ajram and Rhinoplasty: The Procedure, Recovery and Cheek Filler

Nancy Ajram is one of the few Arab stars who have talked openly about cosmetic work: Gulf News reports that she has spoken of the few procedures she has done, including on her cheeks, nose and lips, and calls her one of the few Arab celebrities open about plastic surgery (Source: Gulf News).

In an interview attended by her surgeon she said she had her nose done from the age of 17 and was happy with the result, according to the Egyptian daily El Watan. Masrawy reports that she spoke about other procedures on Mahmoud Saads show «Al Beit Beitak» (Sources: El Watan News, Masrawy).

Her fame took off with «Akhasmak Ah», followed by «Ya Salam» and «Ah W Noss». She won a World Music Award in 2008 for «Betfakar Fi Eh» and again for «Nancy 7» and «Nancy 8», became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2009 and joined the judging panel of Arabs Got Talent in 2012 (Source: Masrawy).

Not every headline about the stars is true: in January 2026 Nancy denied rumours of a divorce, saying that harmony between spouses has become so rare that some find it strange, and her manager also denied the reports (Source: Okaz).

What does a nose job involve? Rhinoplasty changes the proportions of the nose to balance the face: its size, the width of the bridge or a hump, the shape of the tip and the size of the nostrils. It can also correct breathing problems caused by a deviated septum (Source: ASPS).

It is usually done under general anaesthetic and takes 1.5 to 3 hours. A splint stays on for about 7 days, most people need up to 2 weeks off work, and bruising and swelling fade by about 3 weeks, although swelling can take up to 6 months to go completely. In the UK it costs £4,000 to £7,000 privately (Source: NHS).

The ASPS adds that initial swelling goes down within a few weeks but may come and go, often worse in the morning, during the first year, and that the noses final contour can take up to a year to refine (Source: ASPS).

Cheek filler, which many stars mention, lasts about a year with hyaluronic acid, about 15 months with calcium hydroxylapatite, and two years or more with poly-L-lactic acid (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Elissa and Filler Dissolving: When Filler Can Be Reversed and Its Side Effects

Because she felt repeated filler had changed her features. On Ali Al-Olayanis show «Marahel» on SBC in 2022, Elissa said she had filler injections, grew unhappy with her look and decided to return her face to how it looked early in her career; asked what she paid, she would only say «I paid, I paid» (Source: Arabi Post).

She summed up the lesson in one line reported by Sayidaty: wanting to look your very best can end up disfiguring your face. In another interview reported by Masrawy she said she could no longer look at herself in the mirror before she decided to reverse the injections (Sources: Sayidaty, Masrawy).

Elissa has also admitted nose surgery in a TV interview and denied other procedures attributed to her, according to Masrawy (Source: Masrawy).

Can filler be dissolved? Often, yes. If filler shifts or makes the face look lopsided or lumpy, a provider can often use another type of injection to dissolve it. Common side effects of filler, such as swelling, bruising, redness and small bumps, usually settle within a week or two (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

The FDA warns of a rare but serious risk: accidental injection into a blood vessel, which can cause tissue death, vision problems including blindness, and stroke. That is why filler should only be injected by a trained doctor who knows facial anatomy (Source: FDA).

In May 2025 a new appearance by Elissa sparked debate among fans over whether the change came from cosmetic procedures or from the after-effects of her past breast cancer; the report confirmed neither explanation (Source: Okaz).

The WHO notes that about 2.4 million women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024 and that deaths fall when the disease is found and treated early. Stars such as Elissa who speak about their illness help spread awareness of early screening (Source: WHO).

Ahlam and Septoplasty: Deviated Septum, Turbinate Reduction and Recovery

Mainly medical, with a cosmetic touch. In 2025 Ahlam announced she had nose surgery, said her main goal was to get her singing voice back, and showed that three months later the shape of her nose had become balanced (Source: Emarat Al Youm).

She appeared with her doctor, who explained that the operation was needed for a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates, that the main goal was better breathing and smell, and that he also refined the tip of the nose (Source: Annahar).

Medically, septoplasty straightens a crooked septum that can block one or both nostrils. It usually takes 30 to 90 minutes and does not change the shape of the nose on its own, so it is combined with rhinoplasty when an outside change is also wanted; turbinate reduction is sometimes added to improve airflow (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Initial recovery from septoplasty usually takes a week or two, but full healing of bone and cartilage can take several months (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

In September 2026 Ahlam showed a new face-lifting procedure at a Dubai beauty centre, comparing her treated right cheek with her left cheek, which had not yet been treated (Source: Okaz).

A surgical facelift and a thread lift are very different. A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses absorbable barbed sutures to lift tissue and stimulate collagen, without the downtime of surgery (Source: ASPS).

A surgical facelift takes about 2 to 4 weeks to recover from, bruising lasts at least 2 weeks, the full effect can take 6 to 9 months, and risks include nerve injury, asymmetry and scarring (Source: NHS).

In 2018 Ahlam described a lip treatment she called «diamond lips», which she said used vitamins rather than filler, criticised injecting lips with fillers, and mentioned a single injection to make her nose look smaller (Source: Emirates Woman).

A medical caution: we found no strong medical source showing that «vitamins» enlarge the lips. And the nose is not an FDA-approved site for filler, because injections near its blood vessels can cause rare but serious complications (Source: FDA).

Assala and Botox: How It Works, How Long It Lasts and the Frozen Face Risk

Because she felt it limited her expressions. Syrian star Assala said she regretted Botox injections in her cheeks because they reduced her ability to show emotion, and she has never been embarrassed to talk about cosmetic work (Source: El Watan News).

El Watan quoted her plainly: «I had Botox and I regretted it.» She has also spoken in several interviews about under-eye work, a smaller nose and teeth alignment, according to Sayidaty (Sources: El Watan News, Sayidaty).

How does Botox work? It blocks nerve signals to the injected muscle so it cannot contract, softening the wrinkle above it. Most people notice the effect by day 3 or 4, full results appear within 10 to 14 days, and it lasts about 3 to 4 months on average (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Temporary side effects include facial weakness or drooping, bruising and headache. The ASPS advises against rubbing the treated area afterwards so the toxin does not move to nearby muscles (Source: ASPS).

That explains the «frozen face» some celebrities complain about: too much product or the wrong spot restricts the muscles of expression, but the effect is temporary and wears off with the toxin. Learn more in lip flip with Botox.

Ghada Abdel Razek and Cheek Filler: Complications and Permanent Filler Risks

On the show «Kalam El Nas», Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel Razek said a cheek filler went wrong and changed her face, so she needed a second procedure to restore her look; she had earlier admitted nose and teeth work (Source: Sayidaty).

Years before, she spoke about lip enlargement, said she looked better before it, and decided not to repeat it (Sources: El Watan News, El Watan News).

Medically, there is no risk-free «permanent» filler. Serious complications such as leakage, migration or permanent hard nodules appear in FDA warnings, and the FDA also warns against buying filler online and against injectable silicone, which is not approved for any cosmetic use (Source: FDA).

The ASPS describes fillers as temporary treatments for facial ageing that need repeat sessions to maintain results, which means stopping or scaling back stays possible with absorbable types (Source: ASPS).

Horeya Farghaly: Nose Surgery After a Fracture, Rhinoplasty Risks and Revision

It began with an accident, not a cosmetic choice. On Lamees El Hadidis show «Kelma Akhira», Horeya Farghaly said she had more than one operation on her nose after falling from a horse, and that operations in London did not succeed, so she needed more (Source: Sayidaty).

She has spoken about losing her sense of smell and taste and about a custom-made nasal prosthesis made for her in London in 2024, according to Masrawy. We wish her a full recovery, and share her story because it shows that the nose is a working organ before it is a feature (Source: Masrawy).

The ASPS lists difficulty breathing, a rare septal perforation that may be impossible to correct, an unsatisfactory appearance and the possibility of revision surgery among the risks of rhinoplasty (Source: ASPS).

The NHS adds that temporary difficulty breathing through the nose is common for about a week, and that an altered sense of smell or damage to the cartilage wall can occasionally occur (Source: NHS).

Maya Diab and Multiple Cosmetic Procedures: The Most Common Operations Worldwide

Lebanese star Maya Diab has said cosmetic work has become a necessity nowadays to preserve beauty, speaking on Amr Adibs show «Kol Yom», and she later acknowledged several procedures, adding that many women have them (Sources: El Watan News, Masrawy).

Her view reflects a real global shift: about 38 million aesthetic procedures were performed worldwide in 2024, 17.4 million surgical and 20.5 million non-surgical, and eyelid surgery became the most common operation with more than 2.1 million (Source: ISAPS).

Nabila Ebeid and the Facelift: When It Helps, What It Costs and Its Risks

Egyptian film icon Nabila Ebeid belongs to a generation that rarely discussed cosmetic surgery, yet in a TV interview with Mostafa El Agha she said: «Yes, I had cosmetic surgery, and that is necessary, of course» (Source: Sayidaty).

With age the skin of the face and neck loosens, and that is where a facelift comes in. In the US the average surgeons fee for a facelift is $11,395 (approx. £8,600), not including anaesthesia, operating-room facilities or other expenses (Source: ASPS).

Before any such decision, remember that facelift risks include nerve injury, asymmetry, hair loss around the scars and thick scars (Source: NHS).

Diana Haddad: Botox and Filler vs a Facelift, Results and Cost Compared

In June 2026 Diana Haddad denied rumours of a facelift, saying the most she has done are minor procedures, Botox and filler, that she would announce a facelift herself if she ever had one, and that she is at peace with herself (Source: Okaz).

Her answer shows the gap between injections and surgery. In the US the average fee is $435 (approx. £330) for Botox and $715 (approx. £540) for hyaluronic acid filler, while the surgeons fee alone for a facelift is over $11,000 (Sources: ASPS, ASPS, ASPS).

Dounia Batma and Botox: How Often to Repeat It and Who Should Avoid It

Moroccan singer Dounia Batma said she had made several changes to her face but had not gone as far as surgery, and that she uses Botox and filler injections every month to care for her skin, according to Al-Quds Al-Arabi (Source: Al-Quds Al-Arabi).

Medically, Cleveland Clinic says repeat Botox treatments are generally recommended every 3 to 6 months, since that is roughly how long the effect lasts; the treating doctor sets the interval for each person, and sessions should not be brought forward without assessment (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Botox is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with neuromuscular disease, drooping eyelids or weak facial muscles (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Hana El Zahed and Cosmetic Dentistry: Veneers, How Long They Last and Drawbacks

It is cosmetic dentistry. Egyptian actress Hana El Zahed announced on her official Instagram account that she had «finally fixed» her two front teeth, after years of bullying about them (Sources: Masrawy, Masrawy).

On Isaad Youniss show «Sahebet El Saada» she said she felt she had sorted out her teeth after the procedure, and described it as dental work rather than cosmetic surgery (Source: Sayidaty).

She did not say which method she used. One of the best-known options is veneers: thin porcelain or composite shells bonded to the front of the teeth to hide chips, gaps and stains. They usually last 10 to 15 years with care, but traditional veneers require removing some enamel, which does not grow back, and teeth can become more sensitive (Source: Cleveland Clinic).

Fillers and Botox Are Temporary, Rhinoplasty Is Permanent: What Can Be Reversed

Most stars in this guide have admitted specific procedures. Haifa Wehbe remains the best-known name who has confirmed none, Diana Haddad denies a facelift specifically, and Dounia Batma says she never went as far as surgery. Strikingly, the admissions often came with regret or correction: Elissa reversed her filler, Assala regretted Botox and Ghada Abdel Razek needed a fix (Sources: Arabi Post, El Watan News, Sayidaty).

That pattern matches the medical facts: fillers and Botox are temporary and can be stopped, while rhinoplasty is permanent and may need revision surgery if the result disappoints (Source: ASPS).

Arab Actresses Without Surgery: Skin Care and Sun Protection Basics

The honest answer: nobody can tell from photos that a star has had no procedure, and beauty has no scientific ranking. What we can say is that Haifa Wehbe has confirmed no surgery to date, and that Diana Haddad and Dounia Batma say they have had no facial surgery, only injections (Sources: Okaz, Al-Quds Al-Arabi).

Natural beauty starts with daily skin care, sun protection and good sleep. Comparing yourself with edited images on social media, on the other hand, can be psychologically harmful, as the next section explains.

Regret After Cosmetic Surgery and Body Dysmorphic Disorder: When to Wait

Because some decisions were made under image pressure. Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition in which a person spends a lot of time worrying about flaws in their appearance that others often cannot see; it improves with cognitive behavioural therapy and, in some cases, medication (Source: NHS).

A 2024 systematic review of 65 studies and 17,107 patients estimated BDD prevalence among plastic surgery patients at 18.6%, against under 3% in the general population, and the authors recommend screening before surgery (Source: Kaleeny & Janis, 2024).

That is why a responsible surgeon asks why you want this change now. If bullying or comparison with celebrities is the reason, speaking with a mental health professional is part of good care, not an obstacle to it.

Before Cosmetic Surgery: Choosing a Surgeon and When It Is Safe to Fly

Start by checking the surgeon: training, qualifications and how many similar procedures they have done. Ask for before-and-after photos of their own patients, have two consultations with a cooling-off period, and never pay for a hospital you have not seen or a surgeon you have not met (Source: NHS).

If you travel, avoid flying for 7 to 10 days after facial procedures, do not plan a holiday straight after surgery, and ask in advance where follow-up will happen if complications arise (Source: NHS).
