2. What actually works for penis enlargement?
The honest answer: there is no useful, worthwhile way to enlarge the penis other than surgery and hyaluronic acid (filler) injections. Surgery is the way to achieve a noticeable gain in length, and hyaluronic acid injections are the way to increase girth and volume; both are listed among the accepted medical options in the European guidelines (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines). Pills, creams, oils, exercises and commercial gadgets have no scientific evidence of benefit, and some are harmful (Source: Mayo Clinic).
For more details, see our article: penis plastic surgery: types and costs.
3. Can the penis be enlarged naturally, without surgery or injections?
No. There is no scientific evidence that any natural method enlarges the penis in a real and lasting way: pills and supplements have not been shown to work, jelqing has no evidence behind it and may cause scarring and pain, and a pump only makes the penis look bigger temporarily (Source: Mayo Clinic).
4. What is the normal penis size?
A scientific review pooled measurements of more than 15,000 men taken by health professionals using a standard method. It found an average flaccid length of 9.16 cm and an average erect length of 13.12 cm, with an average girth of 9.31 cm flaccid and 11.66 cm erect (Source: review published in BJU International). A penis is considered abnormally small (micropenis) when its stretched length is more than 2.5 standard deviations below the average for the man's age (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines). In reality, most men who believe their penis is small fall within the normal range.
5. Are filler injections for penis enlargement safe and effective?
Yes, when performed by a specialist doctor using hyaluronic acid. In studies, penile girth increased by between 1.4 and 3.78 cm, patient satisfaction ranged from 78% to 100% with no serious side effects reported, and the European guidelines allow its use to increase girth (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).

Pills, Creams and Devices: Do They Work?
6. Are there pills or medicines that enlarge the penis?
No pill enlarges the penis. The advertised products usually contain vitamins, herbs or hormones; none has been shown to work, and some may be harmful (Source: Mayo Clinic). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns that many «sexual enhancement» products are adulterated with dangerous hidden drug ingredients, their effect is not guaranteed, and they may lead to hospitalization (Source: U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)).
7. Do creams, oils or petroleum jelly enlarge the penis?
No. Creams and oils have not been shown to work (Source: Mayo Clinic). Even more dangerous is injecting petroleum jelly (Vaseline), silicone or paraffin under the skin of the penis: the European guidelines firmly reject it because it can cause complications ranging from chronic swelling to the serious condition Fournier's gangrene (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
8. Does jelqing enlarge the penis?
No. Jelqing is a set of manual movements that push blood from the base of the penis towards the head. There is no scientific evidence that it enlarges the penis, and it can cause scarring, pain and deformity (Source: Mayo Clinic).
9. Does a penis extender increase length?
An extender may add 1 to 2 cm to penile length at most, and only if it is worn 4 to 6 hours a day for months on end; it can also be uncomfortable (Source: Mayo Clinic). In the studies reviewed by the European guidelines, stretched length increased by 1.3 to 1.7 cm after three to six months, and these were small studies with weak evidence (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines). For anyone wanting a gain of 3 to 7 cm, the largest increase recorded in surgical studies and what most patients ask for, surgery is the only way.
10. Does a pump (vacuum device) enlarge the penis?
A pump's effect is temporary: it draws blood into the penis so that it looks bigger for a while, then it returns to its usual size. Overuse can damage the elastic tissue of the penis and weaken erections (Source: Mayo Clinic). In men who used a pump for six months, penile length did not change meaningfully (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
11. Do hormones enlarge the penis after puberty?
No. The European guidelines strongly recommend against using testosterone or any other hormonal treatment to enlarge the penis after puberty (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
Filler Injections (Hyaluronic Acid)
12. How is filler injected into the penis?
The doctor injects hyaluronic acid under the skin of the penile shaft in a volume chosen according to the desired size, usually measured in cubic centimetres (15, 20 or 25 cc). The procedure involves no surgery, and injection packages with our contracted doctors include the consultation, medication and a follow-up visit, plus a three-day hotel stay (Source: International Clinics — Turkey).
For more details, see our article: penis filler injection steps.
13. Does filler increase penis length?
No. Filler increases girth and volume; length is gained through surgery. This is why the European guidelines classify injections among girth-enhancing methods, and surgery such as suspensory ligament release among lengthening methods (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
14. How long do penile filler results last?
Hyaluronic acid results are not permanent, because the body gradually absorbs the substance, so some patients need a top-up session after a period estimated by the doctor. The European guidelines do not set a fixed duration for the result, owing to the lack of long-term studies (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
15. Can the head of the penis be enlarged?
Yes. The head of the penis (the glans) can be enlarged by injecting hyaluronic acid into it. This is a separate procedure from enlarging the penile shaft, known as glans augmentation.
For more details, see our article: glans enlargement with filler.
16. Who is not a candidate for filler injections?
Filler is not injected in men with penile dysmorphophobia, that is, excessive anxiety about a normally sized penis; the European guidelines recommend referring them for psychological support first (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
Penis Enlargement Surgery
17. How does surgery increase penis length?
The best-known operation is release of the suspensory ligament, which anchors the penis to the pubic bone, so that a part of the penis previously hidden inside the body becomes visible. In one study reviewed by the European guidelines, flaccid length rose from 8.8 to 11.4 cm after one year, and with another surgical technique (sliding) the average gain was about 3.2 cm (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
For more details, see our article: penis enlargement surgery in Turkey.
18. Does a penile implant increase penis length?
No. A penile implant is a treatment for erectile dysfunction, not an enlargement method; erect length may even decrease by about 0.7 to 0.8 cm afterwards, which is why the European guidelines do not recommend it for lengthening (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
For more details, see our article: top questions about penile implants.
19. What are the risks of penis enlargement surgery?
Surgery can cause infection, scarring, or changes in sensation or in penile function (Source: Mayo Clinic). This is why the European guidelines recommend explaining the benefits and risks clearly to the patient, and performing these operations in high-volume, experienced centres (Source: European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines).
For more details, see our article: risks of penis enlargement surgery.
20. How many days do I need to stay in Turkey for penis enlargement?
Filler injection packages with our contracted doctors include a three-day hotel stay (Source: International Clinics — Turkey). For surgery, the surgeon decides how long you should stay before flying home, depending on the type of operation and your condition.
21. Who is the best doctor for penis enlargement in Turkey?
No single doctor is the best for every patient; the right doctor is the one who masters your specific case. Our advice is to choose a urologist specialising in andrology, with a recognised qualification such as Fellowship of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), broad experience in injections and enlargement surgery, and working in an accredited hospital.
22. What is the best hospital for penis enlargement in Turkey?
The right hospital has international accreditation, a specialised urology and andrology department, and surgeons experienced in these operations.
