Testicular implants are smooth silicone prostheses placed in the scrotum to replace a testicle that is missing or has wasted away through removal, torsion, injury or congenital absence. They aim to restore the natural look of the scrotum and a balanced appearance, but do not replace the hormonal or reproductive function of the testicle.
It is usually performed under general or spinal anaesthesia, and sometimes local anaesthesia with sedation. The surgeon makes a small incision in the groin or scrotum, creates a pocket, and places an implant sized to match the other testicle as closely as possible, securing it with a stitch if needed. Dissolvable stitches close the incision.
Surgery generally takes thirty to sixty minutes, and patients often go home the same day. Pain, swelling and bruising are expected for several days, with rest, scrotal support, and strenuous exercise and heavy lifting avoided for some weeks. The final result usually appears after several weeks as swelling settles.
The final cost is set after a medical consultant reviews your case and photos.

It may improve the look and symmetry of the scrotum and ease the emotional distress linked to a missing testicle. It is a cosmetic and reconstructive option and does not treat infertility or low hormone levels.
Usually someone who has lost a testicle, has an atrophic one or was born without one, who wants a better appearance and is in good general health. In cancer cases, the treating team decides the right timing.
The doctor performs an examination and medical assessment and discusses options and size. Smoking should be avoided, and medicines are adjusted only as advised by the doctor, since prescribed drugs must never be stopped by the patient alone.
A small groin or scrotal incision is made, a pocket is created, the suitable implant is inserted and secured if needed, and the incision is closed with dissolvable stitches.
Mild pain, swelling and bruising for a few days are common. Rest, scrotal support and the pain relief prescribed by the doctor are advised, with strenuous activity avoided for weeks.
The result settles once swelling resolves, over weeks. Implants are designed to last for many years, though some patients need adjustment or replacement.
They include infection, blood or fluid collection, implant movement or displacement, extrusion through the skin, scar tissue around the implant, persistent pain, and dissatisfaction with size or position. Some cases need implant removal or corrective surgery.
A small scar remains at the incision site in the groin or scrotum. It usually improves with time but does not vanish completely.
Patients are generally advised to wait several days until the wound is stable, but the treating doctor confirms the timing.
The implant has no biological function: it produces no hormones or sperm and is not expected to affect their production by the remaining testicle. Sexual activity can usually resume once the doctor allows it, typically after several weeks.
