HydraFacial (hydradermabrasion) is a non-surgical facial skin treatment that combines deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, extraction of impurities and hydration with a suitable serum. It is considered for dull skin, clogged pores, fine lines and dryness, and aims to refresh the skin and improve its radiance and texture.

A dedicated device passes a water-based solution over the skin and draws out impurities and dead cells by suction. Hydrating or antioxidant serums are then applied according to skin type. No anesthesia or surgical incisions are needed, although a mild suction and a cooling sensation may be felt during the session.

A session usually lasts about 30 to 45 minutes, and most people can return to daily activities straight afterwards, with mild redness sometimes lasting a few hours. The skin often looks fresher right after the session, and results improve gradually with repeated sessions as the doctor recommends.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of HydraFacial?

It cleans the pores, removes dead cells and hydrates the skin, which usually looks fresher, clearer and smoother. It can also prepare the skin to respond better to home care and other treatments.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

It suits most skin types, including oily, dry, combination and relatively sensitive skin. It may not be suitable for people with active skin inflammation, sunburn or wounds on the face, and the doctor decides after an examination.

How do I prepare for the session?

You are often advised to pause strong exfoliants and retinol products for a few days beforehand. Tell the doctor about your skin sensitivity and the medicines you take, especially oral acne medication.

How is the session performed?

The skin is cleansed first, then the device passes a gentle exfoliating solution over it while impurities are drawn from the pores by suction. Hydrating serums are applied afterwards. No anesthesia is needed and no wounds are made.

What does recovery look like?

Recovery is usually very quick, and mild redness may appear and fade within hours. Sunscreen is advised, and strong products are usually avoided for a day or two according to the doctor's instructions.

When do results appear and how long do they last?

Radiance is usually visible right after the session, and the effect generally lasts from several days to a few weeks depending on skin type and skincare habits. Repeating sessions at intervals set by the doctor is often recommended to maintain the improvement.

What are the possible risks and side effects?

The treatment is generally safe. Common effects include mild redness, a feeling of tightness or temporary sensitivity. Irritation or temporary breakouts may rarely occur in sensitive skin, so it should be performed by a qualified specialist.

Does it treat spots, pigmentation and deep lines?

HydraFacial improves the overall look of the skin and may soften superficial pigmentation and fine lines. It does not treat deep lines or marked pigmentation, and the doctor may suggest other procedures when needed.

How many days should I stay before traveling after the session?

No specific stay is usually required, and travel on the same day or the next day is often possible. Your treating doctor confirms this according to the condition of your skin.

How many sessions do I need and how often can they be repeated?

One session may temporarily improve radiance, and the doctor may recommend repeated sessions, usually a few weeks apart, to reinforce the result. The number and interval depend on your skin condition and your goal.
